Microfiction About Moms : 4-Day Workshop– May 7th – 10th

Participants will be creating microfiction stories featuring complicated, interesting mother characters. Stories can be CNF or fiction. This will be up to each participant.

Samples of great mother stories will be offered, and prompt-exercises designed to help bring out your creativity.

My prompts are designed to help all writers break through creative barriers.  There will be feedback from me directly on every story, as well as encouraging peer feedback. Encouraging and supportive. Held in a private Facebook group. Cost for the workshop is $90 USD per student.

The Write of Spring, an Ekphrastic Microfiction Workshop

April 22nd – 24th

Cost: $130 USD

The Write of Spring is a 3-day Ekphrastic Microfiction workshop led by Meg Pokrass and Lorette C. Luzajic, Founding Editor of the Ekphrastic Review.

Art aims to illuminate the human condition, and it moves us in ways that are unexpected and often, profoundly emotional. Great art surprises and awakens the reader or the viewer with the beauty found in the unexpected and the uncanny. Springtime changes the way we see the world, and opens us up to new possibilities. We will be providing a safe and warm creative work space for you to let creativity flow, and to take creative risks.

The course will be held in a private Facebook group. Word count is 400 words per story. There will be supportive, insightful instruction on every story, as well as peer feedback. Please email meg here if interested.

Surreally Senior: Writing Older Characters: March 2nd – 4th

March 2nd – 4th, 2022. Launch into Spring with rebellious, unpredictable stories! I’m thrilled to be offering a unique 3-day flash fiction workshop focusing on quirky stories about unpredictable older characters that burst through the stereotypes about age. Getting older is the wildest journey we will take… The challenge is to make fiction from it!

Participants will be creating 3 stories during the workshop. Animal Love: An Ekphrastic Microfiction Workshop – Feb 21st – 24th.

This is a 4-day Ekphrastic Microfiction workshop with Meg Pokrass, Co-Editor of Best Microfiction, and Lorette C. Luzajic, Founding Editor of the Ekphrastic Review! We’ll be focusing on writing animal-love themed microfiction stories inspired by the works of great artists, offering highly generative, creative prompts from selected paintings.

Animals change us, make us better creatures, creating a kind of emotional freedom. Art aims to illuminate the human condition, and the art of humans and their love for animals touches us in ways that are unexpected and deeply emotional. Great art surprises and awakens the reader or the viewer with the beauty found in the unexpected and the uncanny.

The course will be held in a private Facebook group. Word count is 400 words per story. There will be supportive, insightful instruction on every story, as well as peer feedback. $150 USD.
