Meg Pokrass is an award-winning flash fiction writer. She is the author of five collections, recipient of the Blue Light Book Award (Bluelight Press, 2016) and author of an award-winning novella-in-flash, “Here, Where We Live” which appears in “My Very End of the Universe – Five Novella in Flash and a Study of the Form” (Rose Metal Press, 2015).
Her stories and poems have in over 320 literary publications, including Tin House, Electric Lit, Wigleaf, Jellyfish Review, Tupelo Quarterly, Smokelong Quarterly, and McSweeney’s Internet Tendency.
Her work has been taught in universities and anthologized widely, including two Norton anthologies of flash fiction, “Flash Fiction International” (W. W. Norton & Co., 2015), “New Micro” (W. W. Norton & Co., 2018), “Best Small Fictions, “Wigleaf Top 50”, “Flash Non-Fiction Funny”, “Nothing Short of 100”, and countless others.
She regularly judges flash contests all around the UK, including the Bath Flash Award, The Bath Flash Award’s Novella in Flash contest (which she helped to establish) and Mslexia’s Flash Fiction competition.
Meg serves as Festival Curator for Flash Fiction Festival, U.K., Co-Founder, Best Microfiction Anthology Series, Co-Founder, Flash Fiction Collective (San Francisco), and Founding Editor for New Flash Fiction Review.
Meg is as passionate about introducing writers to the form as she is about the form itself, and has had the privilege of teaching and judging flash for over ten years. Many of her students are now successful, award-winning authors in their own right.
