“Kitsch Confidential” by Janice Leagra – Author Reading

Writing Kitsch Confidential

Kitsch Confidential by Janice Leagra was published in Ghost Parachute

“Kitsch Confidential” was conceived in Meg’s first Funny Flash workshop held in early 2018. It was my first ever workshop with Meg. It turned out to be a wonderfully productive experience. I ended the workshop with seven rough stories.

“Kitsch Confidential” came to me with the combined help of Meg’s workshop prompt and a Writer’s Digest writing prompt I had written in my notebook. Meg asked us to write about a real or fictional character and for whatever reason, Anthony Bourdain popped into my head. (This was a few months before his tragic death.) The result is this silly story. -Janice Leagra
